Running Boards
We decided to do all the work ourselves. After doing some research, we found a company that sold a set of Running Boards specific to this model Nissan. When ordering make sure its for the right year, make and model. This came complete with all the hardware necessary to complete the job. It comes in 2 pieces with the necessary hardware for the do it yourselfer project.

The pre-drilled holes were already there on the frame. This is where it is critical that you get the correct set for your vehicle. Even the same make and model with a years difference can make what should be an easy project into a nightmare. We first started off by unpacking and laying out the running boards on each side. It comes with the four bolts, washers and lock washers for each side.

I decided to run a tap through the threads once to get rid of any dirt, rust and debris. Using penetrating works well also. In our case the truck was four years old and had time to rust the threads a bit. Now comes the question...can you do this alone? Yes, but it would be so much easier with two people to hold the running board in place while screwing in the bolts.

It went as fast as I could tighten in the bolts. We did once side at a time and only tightened the bolts after all four were in place. There is some room to adjust and I went with dead center due to the fact it was easier to get a socket and ratchet on the head of the bolt. This was accomplished one side at a time and it took about 20 minutes a side.

Once that's completed...finish tightening all the bolts snugly and your finished. There are so many different styles and shapes to choose from to get the look and feel your after. We opted for the chrome based on personal preference. These also came in the solid black which would have looked good also. Again, this is just one style... the tube, they also come in a L-shaped black, chrome. Retail Price on the guard is around $350.00 and up. We paid a little over $300 and if you would like the information on where to get this unit specific for your truck, drop us an email.

On both the Brush Guard and Running Boards, we had them shipped right to our front door by FedEx.
